Meet Dr. Gregory Dorsett

It is amazing to me that I am able to practice in the same community and office where I was the patient so many years ago. I really enjoy getting to catch up with so many old friends and to make so many new ones!

Dentistry is a way for me to give back to others the gift given to me by my parents and Dr. Grow. My parents brought me to the dentist regularly; the excellent care I received at Highland Family Dentistry I am now able to give to others.

Prosser has such a wide variety of people and it is fun, as a dentist, to get to have regular contact with so many of them. I am able to help improve the lives of my neighbors and friends through better oral health and that is an amazing gift to offer. Whether relieving a person’s dental pain or being there to encourage a continuation of great oral habits, this profession is a blessing.

Each day I have wonderful conversations with patients. It’s enjoyable to talk about this area we have all chosen to live and work in, to talk about family and dreams and plans, to share in people’s lives and stories. I especially value the trust our patients place in the practice, knowing we care for their health, safety, and wellbeing.

Education and Experience

I have practiced dentistry for over ten years. Dr. Grow did veneers on me, when I was in high school, and I decided I wanted to share with others the benefits received from his care.

After graduating from Prosser High School, I attended Washington State University. There I received Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry and Biotechnology. I then attended the University of Washington School of Dentistry, where I obtained my Doctorate of Dental Surgery.

In practice, I really enjoy seeing kids and starting them on the path to excellent oral health and good experiences with dentistry. I equally like working with fearful adults and helping them overcome their worries so they too can have healthy smiles. Being able to rebuild smiles and in the process giving people back function, aesthetics, and confidence is rewarding too.

Continuing Education

I’m constantly seeking out opportunities to further develop my knowledge and skills. By taking courses online I am able to learn about leading-edge dental techniques from around the world. I carefully evaluate new developments and incorporate those that are safe, proven, and improve the patient experience and outcome, into the practice.

Personal Life

Like most of my patients, family is my greatest love. My wife Angela and I have three young boys: John, Stephen, and Benedict. We live on 12 acres outside of Prosser, while my parents and two of my siblings with their families live in town. At our home we have Scottish Highland cows and other cattle, along with chickens, ducks, rabbits, cats, and a dog.

I am an avid gardener and mini-farmer. In addition to our animals, we have about 75 fruit and nut trees, tons of flower beds, and berry patches. Chances are if I’m not at the office I am at home working in the yard with my wife and kids. We also like camping and hiking if we get the chance and activities with our church, Sacred Heart Parish. In my downtime, which is admittedly somewhat limited, I am an avid reader of all types of books.
