Serving Others through Dentistry

Dentistry has been the perfect career choice for me. It allows me to serve others, work with my hands, and connect with people. Every day is new and exciting because of the challenges of providing the best dental care for each person’s needs and desires.

I’ve been serving the Prosser and the lower Yakima Valley community for more than 30 years. During that time I’ve met many incredible people and developed relationships that go beyond healthcare provider and patient: my patients become friends and I treasure those connections. I love to hear their stories, share in their lives, and laugh with them.

Growing up, I always knew I wanted to work in medicine. As I got older and saw how much my dad loved dentistry and the relationships with his patients, following in his footsteps was the obvious choice.

I spend my days helping people: I relieve pain, restore the ability to comfortably chew, and make lovely smiles even more beautiful. Dentistry is about caring for others and improving their lives. I cannot imagine anything more fulfilling.

I hope that everyone I work with, throughout the day and over the years, knows I care about them and want the very best for them.

My Team

I have the best team members. Period. They are all dedicated to helping people develop and keep healthy smiles and mouths. One of the best parts of my day is when I hear a team member connecting and laughing with a patient. At Highland Family Dentistry, we love people. While we offer the highest quality dentistry, the most important thing is that we genuinely care about our patients.

Education and Continuing Education

I graduated from Grandview High School and completed my undergraduate studies at Seattle Pacific University. I then enrolled at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, where I received my Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS).

Dentistry, like all health services, is rapidly changing. It is vitally important for my team and me to stay up-to-date on new technologies, techniques, and materials, so we can provide the best care for our patients. Each year we complete many hours of continuing education, ensuring we are current on developments and the newest care options. This ensures we’re able to deliver the excellent care our patients deserve.

Beyond the Office and In the Community

I was raised in Grandview, lived in Seattle for seven years, and have called Prosser home for the last 30 years! Bev, my wife, and I have three married children who’ve all returned to live in Prosser. Bev and I share our lives with our Mastiff/Newfoundland mix, Xena. My parents, brother, sister, and their families live in Grandview.

When not working, I love to golf. I also like to work in the yard, take on projects around the house, and enjoy being outside and traveling.

Everyone in my family attends The Church of the Nazarene in Grandview and I’ve served on eight international mission trips, doing construction and offering dental care. Locally, I’ve served the Prosser branch of the Boys & Girls Club of America for seven years; four of those were as President. Bev and I love Prosser. It is important we all give back so we will continue to have the community we love and take pride in.

I am truly blessed. I thank God for his love for me. I thank Him for my wife, family, practice, and community. It is my honor to serve Him by serving others.
